Hi,
If you are thinking where you can go for holidays with pre-school age children and can avoid the extra cost of travelling during school holidays, think about the island of Cyprus.
Situated in the Med between Turkey, Greece and Egypt we are in an ideal location for all year round sunshine. We are one of the largest Mediterranean islands and are the only place where you can ski on the top of the mountain in February and still have some time for sunbathing after lunch by the pool or on your balcony.
The months of July and August can be very hot, sultry and humid but from mid April to end of June and early September to mid November, you can still expect warm and sunny days with no humidity to make you feel sticky and tired.
With flights at just a little over 4hrs from the UK, Limassol is bang in the middle of both Larnaca and Paphos airports with travelling times of no more than an hour in each direction.
Limassol is in the centre of the island and ideal for exploring the inland villages, visiting the Donkey Sanctuary at Vouni, Kolossi Castle, the ancient Roman ruins at Curium with its' fabulous ampitheatre overlooking the deep blue sea.
If you want to get out and about, car hire is recommended and you can easily explore both ends of the island from Limassol without having to drive the length and breadth of it all in one go!
Cyprus drives on the left, same as in UK. Road signs are written in English with the Greek below and traffic lights are the same. We use 3 pin electric sockets so no need for an adapter and tap water is safe to drink in apartments or private holiday rental accommodation.
Enjoy!
PS - Don't forget where to look if you need to hire travel cots, high chairs, car seats etc
